Buyers for Pakistan and Bangladesh, including exporters mainly to the Commonwealth of Independent States participated in the sale at the auction in the main port city Chittagong. “Though most domestic buyers were active as usual there was only a limited interest from Pakistan and local exporters,” said an executive of the National Brokers Limited, the country’s largest tea broker. Different grades were sold between 95 taka and 188 taka per kg. The next weekly auction will be held on Nov. 10, with an offer of 1.81 million kg.
