Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister GM Quader today emphasised on protecting and preserving cultural diversities of the indigenous communities of the country.

?Let us work together to protect cultural diversities of the indigenous communities as those are valuable resources for us,? he made the appeal at the inauguration of the first ever Indigenous Community Fair at Cox?s Bazar sea beach.

Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister GM Quader today emphasised on protecting and preserving cultural diversities of the indigenous communities of the country. The minister mentioned that the indigenous communities of the country have varieties of cultural activities.

?If we could showcase these cultural activities, we would be able to attract more tourists in the country,? he said.

Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation Chairman Shafique Alam Mehdi was also present at the inaugural ceremony of the fair.

People from 12 indigenous communities including Chakma, Tripura, Khumi, Bom, Mro, Lusai and Pangkhoa from Chittagong Hill Tracts and Cox’s Bazar are participating in the fair.

A total of 30 organizations, mostly NGOs and other business houses, showcased their products in 30 stalls in the fair.

Cox’s Bazaar is known for its wide sandy beach which is claimed to be the world’s longest natural sandy sea beach. It is an unbroken 125 km sandy sea beach with a gentle slop. Since the rise and fall of the tide here is not great, it is a good place for sea bathing.

In this fair buyer ?interaction is not satisfactory..Yesterday Friday their was a huge crowd but the buyer was not satisfied on the asking ?prices, In the opening ceremony the REHAB Chairman and CDA Chairman had shown the strong hope? of the satisfactory future residence of Chittagong.
